Elementary Literacy Enrichment Class

Service Description

The Literacy Enrichment Course is designed to eliminate academic gaps that may have resulted from the early school closures due to COVID-19 for the 2019-20 Academic Year. In this class, students will be reviewing the skills of reading comprehension, basic reading, vocabulary, grammar, and writing. In addition, students will be exposed to the following standards: Ask & Answer Questions; Compare & Contrast important points; Explain & Illustrate; Express one's Point of View; Read and Comprehend grade level literature; Write Opinion Pieces; Speak in Complete Sentences; Summarize written text; Quote accurately; Analyze; Describe Narrator's Point of View; Vocabulary Acquisition; Spelling and Grammar. All literacy content will be taught by an instructor during this online forum. Students will be required to engage in Independent Practice via an online module, which will be beneficial in practicing weak standards, and accelerating the student towards growth. Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared to transition into the next grade.
